Genome Information Science

该团队的成立，是为了将基因组信息科学研究项目顺利、有机地运行起来，从而推动研究和生物信息学的发展。它的功能包括与其他相关的国家项目和机构共享信息。我们在项目预算期间组织的活动有国际本体论研讨会、由助学金资助的关于基因组研究的四个项目的联席会议、基因组Hiroba(公共关系活动)、基因组信息学国际会议。此外，我们还与日本科学技术厅举办了基因组扫盲研讨会。此外，我们的活动还包括向教育工作者和其他相关人员分发介绍基因组研究的DVD，组织生物信息学编程竞赛以培养潜在的人，在互联网上发布数据库和分析工具，以及建立服务器以发布研究结果。为了促进研究和相关人员之间的信息共享，我们成立了三个委员会：本体开发委员会、软件加速与共享委员会和蛋白质三维结构信息流通与评估预测委员会。

This team was established to operate the research project "Genome Information Science" smoothly and organically, and thereby promote the research and bioinformatics. Its function includes sharing information with other related national projects and institutions.Events that we organized during the budget term of the project were International Ontology Workshops, Joint meetings by the four projects funded by Grant-in-Aid concerning genome research, Genome HIROBA (public relations activities), International Conference on Genome Informatics.In addition, we held Genome Literacy Seminars with Japan Science and Technology Agency. Also, our activities were distribution of DVDs introducing genome research to educationists and other related people, organization of Bioinformatics Programming Contests to cultivate prospective people, publication of the databases and the analysis tools on the Internet, and server setup for publishing the research outputs.Three committees were organized for promoting research and sharing information among the related people: Ontology Development Committee, Software Speeding-up and Sharing Committee, and Committee on Circulating Information of and Evaluating Prediction of Protein 3D Structure.
