The role of radiation therapy in the management of malignantlymphoma

对1972-1985年间收治的1514例非霍奇金淋巴瘤和234例霍奇金病患者进行了多机构研究。在845例头颈部非霍奇金淋巴瘤患者中，放射治疗疗效显著，局部控制率达95%。然而，由于27%的I期和52%的II期患者在远处复发，I期患者的5年生存率为65%，II期患者的5年生存率为46%。其中54%的患者仅接受放射治疗，其余患者接受放射治疗和化疗。两组患者的存活率差异无统计学意义。

A multi-institutional study of 1514 patients with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and 234 patients with Hodgkin's disease treated between 1972 and 1985 was performed. Of 845 patients with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma localized in the head and neck, radiation therapy had significant responses and 95% of local control rate in the treated region. Howeer, since 27% of stage I and 52% of stage II patients experienced relapse in the distant sites, five year survival were 65% for stage I patients and 46% for stage II. Of these, 54% of patients were treated with radiation therapy alone, and the others were treated radiation combined with chemotherapy. There were no significant difference of survival between two groups.
