Japanese and African Americans : Historical Aspects of Their Relations from World War II to Present

本研究课题“日本人与非裔美国人：从第二次世界大战至今的历史关系”，以第二次世界大战后的日美关系为背景，考察了日本人与非裔美国人之间的历史关系的重要特征。这一项目揭示了过去几十年中两国关系的新的或不同的方面，尽管在战前和战后时期之间有一些连续性。该项目不仅具有学术意义，而且具有促进日美两国相互理解的社会意义。为国际学术界研究这一课题提供了一些基本框架。

This research project "Japanese and African Americans : Historical Aspects of Their Relations from World War II to Present" has examined important features of historical relations between Japan/Japanese and African America/African Americans in the context of Japan-US history after World War II. This project has revealed new or diverse aspects of relations in the last several decades, though there are some continuity seen between the pre-war and post-war periods. The project contains not only academic significance but also social meaning to promote mutual understanding between Japan and the US. Therefore, it has provided some basic frameworks of this topic for international academia.
