Comparative Syntax of Movement and Noun Phrase Structure

本课题旨在通过对日语的分析，为左右边缘的研究做出贡献。该语言允许在词序上相对自由地变化，并含有丰富的补足语。因此，它提供了在大多数其他语言中没有观察到的证据。通过这个项目，我们成功地为在意大利和西班牙研究的基础上提出的左/右边缘结构收集了新的证据，并为该结构的普遍性提供了支持。在名词短语结构方面，我们对日语和汉语进行了详细的对比研究，因为两种语言都有丰富的量词系统，但缺乏数量形态。结果表明，它们之间的主要差异来自于头部参数。

This project aimed to contribute to the research on the left/right periphery based on the analysis of Japanese. The language allows relatively free variation in word order and is rich in complementizers. It therefore offers evidence that is not observed in most other languages. Through this project, we succeeded in collecting new pieces of evidence for the structure of the left/right periphery proposed on the basis of research on Italian and Spanish, and provided support for the universality of the structure. For the noun phrase structure, we conducted a detailed comparative study of Japanese and Chinese as the two languages have rich classifier systems and lack number morphology. It was demonstrated that the main differences between them follow from the head parameter.
