Symposia, workshops, and sabbaticals of the Priority Program "Age-Related Macular Degeneration

The co-ordinators of the SPP "Age-related-macular-degeneration" apply for a budget to organise: (1) One international symposium in theyears 2002 - 2004. The symposium aims to convey the scientific progress of the PP to aninternational community of researchers. Vice versa international input isexpected in order to counsel the workgroups within the SPP. (2) Workshops tostimulate collaboration between participants and projects and to improve themutual understanding of different methodologies in view of the wide range ofinterdisciplinary workgroups (in medicine, biology, genetics) within the SPP. (3) Coverage for traveland accommodation: Use and up-to-date performance of the most appropriatelaboratory techniques and research strategies in general require visits ofPP-participants (researchers and technicians) to collaborating and co-operatinglaboratories and clinics within and outside the SPP.
