Towards better corpus applications in multilingual EFL classrooms using parallel corpora

为了在多语种外语课堂中成功地实施和推广DDL，我们开发并发布了两个新的、简单易用的免费并行语料库工具：在线检索器WebParaNews和独立的多语种检索器AntPConc。使用这些工具和日英平行语料库制作的DDL英语和日语教学教材的有效性通过前后测试来衡量。结果显示了显著的收获和积极的学生反馈，表明这种方法对提高语法和词汇是有用的。

In order to implement and promote successful DDL in multilingual foreign language classrooms, we have developed and released two new, simple to use, freeware parallel corpus tools: an online concordancer, WebParaNews, and a standalone multilingual concordancer, AntPConc. The effectiveness of DDL teaching materials for English and Japanese language education using these tools and Japanese-English parallel corpora was measured by pre- and post-tests. Results showed significant gains and positive student feedback, indicating this approach was useful for improving grammar and vocabulary.
