Privacy of genetic discrimination and legal regulation on genetic discrimination

随着人类基因图谱筛查技术的进步和基因检测技术的广泛应用，揭示了个体未来的健康状况和未来发病的DNA连锁疾病的风险，所谓的保险领域的基因歧视问题已经开始被提出，遗传信息隐私的法律保护是当今社会亟待解决的问题。在我们的研究中，我们对美国、德国、澳大利亚等国现行的关于保险环境中使用基因信息的法律法规进行了多次国际调查。此外，在日本国内，我们还采访了国内几个遗传病协会和家庭成员，以及各大人寿保险公司的代表。我们在学术会议上组织研讨会和研讨会，介绍我们的研究成果，并与不同的专业人士交换意见并制作报告。

With the advancement of techniques of screening human genetic profiles and widely used genetic tests which are unveiling the future health condition of the individual and the risk of future onset DNA link diseases, the so-called genetic discrimination issues in insurance settings have begun to be raised and the legal protection on the privacy of genetic information is an urgent matter to be addressed in our present society.In our research, we made several international surveys of the present legal regulations on the use of genetic information in insurance settings in the USA, Germany, and Australia, etc. Moreover, within Japan, we conducted interviews for several domestic associations and family members of genetic diseases, and also representatives of major life insurance companies. We organized symposiums and workshops in academic conferences and made presentations on the findings of our research and moreover, exchanged opinions with a variety of professionals and produced a report.
