History Education and Split of Historical Recognition in Uruguayan Civil Society about State Terrorism

乌拉圭的历史学家们一致认为，没有得到本党支持的总统对军队的依赖导致了1973年的政变和侵犯人权，即国家恐怖主义。但是，游击和军队都要为政变负责的观点，即“两个恶魔”理论在乌拉圭社会中仍然有影响。这种理论在阿根廷已经失去权力，但在乌拉圭仍然存在的原因是，一些认为自己是游击队和军队冲突受害者的政治家在竞选活动中利用了这种理论，以攻击已成为合法政党并取得显著成功的前游击队。

The Uruguayan historians in total accord interprets that the dependence on military of president who had not support in his own party caused a coup d'etat of 1973 and violation of human rights, i.e., state terrorism. But the idea of both guerrilla and military were responsible for coup d'etat, namely "two demons "theory has still influence among Uruguayan society. The reason why this theory which already lost power in Argentine persists in Uruguay is that some politicians who see themselves were victims of conflict between guerrilla and military have utilized it in electoral campaign in order to attack former guerrillas who have turned legal party and made a remarkable success.
