A Recent Development Inherited from Middle Eastern Studies before and during World War Two:A Perspective from "Muslim and Jewish Question" in Japan

本研究将二战前和二战期间的穆斯林和犹太研究作为战略研究进行了重新评估，并从战前的研究中继承了中东和伊斯兰地区研究的战后发展。在此基础上，我们对上述研究，特别是《犹太研究杂志》进行了数据库的构建，并从日本的角度展示了中东和伊斯兰研究的新方向，以保持政策导向与基础研究的平衡。

This study reevaluates Muslim and Jewish studies before and during World War Two as strategic studies and explores the post-war time development of Middle Eastern and Islamic area studies inherited from those of the pre-war time. From this viewpoint, we constructed database on the above-mentioned studies, especially the Journal of Jewish studies and shows a new direction of Middle Eastern and Islamic studies from Japanese perspective in order to keep balance between policy-oriented and basic studies.
