Orientational Ordering of Partially Deuterated Methanes and the Molecules with Partially Deuterated Methyl Groups in the Adsorbed Monolayers

测定了甲烷、碘甲烷、甲醇、甲苯、4-甲基吡啶、2，6-二氯甲苯、2，6-二溴甲苯及其部分氚类似物在0.7K~20K温度范围内的单层热容，结果表明，在如此低的温度下，分子(或甲基)在石墨表面的取向是完全有序的。结果给出了一些结构信息，这些信息是任何结构/光谱实验都无法获得的。

Heat capacity measurements were made for the monolayers of methane, methyl iodide, methanol, toluene, 4-methylpyridine, 2,6-dichlorotoluene, 2,6-dibromotoluene and their deuterated analogs, including the partially deuterated ones, in the temperature range from 0.7 K to 20 K. All the monolayers of the partially deuterated compounds showed a Schottky-type anomaly, indicating that the molecules (or methyl groups) are completely ordered in their orientation on the surface of graphite at such low temperatures. The results give some structural information that cannot be obtained from any structural/spectroscopic experiments.
