By analysing the vast large amount of data in free on-line databases of patents, users can gain significant competitive advantages. But current methods are skill and labour intensive. The benefits of patent research could be expanded if costs were dramatically reduced without sacrificing accuracy. PatAnalyse has successfully developed novel artificial intelligence engine for patent searching, analysis and for the visualisation of patent landscapes. The new methods have been used for consultancy assignments but we have an ambition to eventually commercialise our new methodology through the novel on-line services modelled on the collaborative aspects of the ‘Wikipedia’ paradigm. The new platform will be utilising collaborative search processes combined with automation based on diverse patent classifications, benchmarking, and semantic indexing. Current project is aimed to establish a proper IP protection strategy for PatAnalyse before making public the unique aspects of our on-line tool set.
