Discovering Detectors

This project supports public engagement with the amazing and inspiring scientific research at the STFC facility at RAL. This project aims toprovide a good quality, age-appropriate, remote, practical workshop to explain to upper primary pupils how detectors are used in the work at RAL focus on a wonder audience by using the index of deprivation or pupil premium data to identify schools with low science capital across the UK.connect pupils with the personnel who work with detectors at RALencourage pupils to talk about the detectors at RAL when they get homeprovide teachers with enrichment activities which can use in a cross-curricula wayenhance teachers' confidence to use the ideas and activities with other pupils and with parentsprovide scientists, engineers and technicians at RAL with activities that support public communication of their work
