The project will investigate non-synchronous vibrations in fans with the aim to understand the physical mechanisms and determine onset criteria. Two fan geometries will be investigated, a low-pressure ratio rig fan representative of modern ultra-high bypass ratio fans, and a high-pressure ratio fan.
