英文摘要
This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. To determine if patients matched by ethnicity, age-range, and BMI-range with Acanthosis Nigricans are: more insulin resistant than patients without AN and; have more components of the metabolic syndrome than patients without AN. At least two practices will be recruited by each network New Mexico, Colorado, Texas, and Georgia. Practices will be selected on the following: interest in participating, ready accessiblity to network offices, and willingness of practice staff to participate in recruitment activities. Clinician participants must take a web-based training course on the identification of AN prior to data collection.
