The proposed equipment - an integrated line of sight / non-line of sight movement recording system - will be used in NSERC funded studies of sensorimotor interaction in speech motor control. The studies have the common aim of understanding the dependence of speech motor learning on auditory and somatosensory information. They are also linked by a common methodology - the use of mechanical and acoustical perturbations that alter auditory or somatosensory feedback during speech.
