LONG TERM OBJECTIVE - The overall long term objective of my research is to understand the processes controlling nickel, copper, platinum-group elements (PGE), chrome, vanadium, titanium and phosphorus distribution in igneous systems. The study of these elements is used both in fundamental research; considering such problems as how and when the core formed, the effects of meteorite impacts, the formation and segregation of immiscible liquids from silicate magmas, and in applied research developing models for exploration and exploitation of Ni-Cu-PGE and oxide ore deposits. My work covers both aspects but is concentrated on formation of ore deposits.
