英文摘要
This project will develop advanced engineered delivery vehicles for the site specific delivery of nanostructured anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial compounds. These compounds are some of the most potent therapeutic agents discovered in the last 30 years. The group will also develop an understanding, at the molecular level, of how these compounds interact with the body. If the group is successful it will change the outcomes for patients with debilitating illnesses in which inflammation plays a major role. During the course of the research we will train the next generation of scientists who will engineer solutions, at the atomic level, to treat disease. This will help lead the world in the field of nanomedicine.
