Organic Material Synthesis

科学界正准备取得重大技术突破，从而推动光电子器件、发光二极管和场效应晶体管等灵活、轻便、低成本电子器件的发展。共轭有机材料是这些新兴技术的核心。因此，大量的努力致力于它们的组装和功能化。材料性能的改进来自于新分子结构的设计和合成的进步。作为加拿大有机材料合成研究主席，我将开展研究，旨在发现生产这些材料的新方法，这将提高我们更有效地应用当前技术的能力，并简化具有增强性能的新材料的发现。

The scientific community is poised to make significant technological breakthroughs that will enable the advancement of flexible, lightweight, low-cost electronic devices such as photovoltaics, light emitting diodes and field-effect transistors. Conjugated organic materials are at the core of these emerging technologies. Therefore, great effort is dedicated to their assembly and functionalization. Improvements of the material properties arise from advances in the design and synthesis of new molecular architectures. As Canada Research Chair in Organic Material Synthesis, I will undertake research aimed at discovering new ways to produce these materials which will enhance our ability to apply current technology more efficiently and streamline the discovery of new materials with enhanced properties.
