英文摘要
Nanoscale allotropes of carbon such as buckminsterfullerenes and carbon nanotubes have many burgeoning potential applications in a variety of exciting technologies. However, their use remain limited by the onerous purification techniques that are available to obtain pure samples. This unmet need also provides large commercialization potential and impetus to pursue a solution. Here, we propose a strategy using silica gel that has been functionalized with bent aromatic molecules that should provide a solution to this problem and be yield a successful product that can be brought to market.
