物联网(IoT)第二层CRC的目标是设计和开发一个开放的物联网基础设施，并在各个层面进行创新，以支持物联网环境的创建、维护和运营。CRC计划将开发支持创建智慧城市环境的创新技术，包括广泛的智能服务，如城市传感、环境监测、应急和灾害管理以及终端用户按需传感。研究活动将利用物联网支持的环境更好地将人们与周围环境联系起来，并启用真正无处不在的数据服务，以提高整体生活质量。

The objectives of the Tier II CRC in the Internet of Things (IoT) is to design and develop an open IoT infrastructure with innovations at various levels to support the creation, maintenance and operation of IoT environments. The CRC program will develop innovative techniques that support the creation of a Smart City environment including a wide range of smart services such as urban sensing, environment monitoring, emergency and disaster management and end-user on-demand sensing. The research activities will leverage IoT-enabled environments to better connect people with their surroundings and enable truly ubiquitous data services to improve overall quality of life.
