The CRC program focuses on developing performance-enhancing technical solutions that will enable the storage and efficient deployment of energy derived from a wide variety of intermittent renewable sources. Drawing on the expertise of both university and industry leaders, the program will develop and test technologies that will facilitate the generation of continuous, low-emission power from solar, wind, ocean current, and other renewable energy sources. Prototypes will be applied and tested through the creation of a campus-wide Smart Energy System at the University of British Columbia. The technologies and techniques developed will address critical gaps in Canada¿s renewable power sector.
