An Investigation of Wind Effects on Structures

更新项目将继续收集现场数据，即上海电视塔的同步风速和动力响应记录。已经安装了仪器，并开始记录数据。利用该网站的高强度和极端风事件频发的优势，还将进行两年的数据收集。所制作的数据库将使结构和风工程界受益，并将提高对自然灾害对结构物造成的横向荷载影响的认识，从而提高建筑物和构筑物的安全设计。

The renewal project is to continue the gathering of field data, viz., simultaneous wind speeds and dynamic response records on the Shanghai Television Tower. Instrumentation has been installed and data has started to be recorded. Two more years of data gathering will take place, taking advantage of the site's high intensity and frequence of extreme winds episodes. The data base produced will benefit the structural and wind engineering community, and will also improve the knowledge on the effects of lateral loads on structures caused by natural hazards thus, the safety design of buildings and structures.
