In this project, the PI will conduct a laboratory study of double diffusive salt finger convection to determine the T and S flux laws in a stably stratified, doubly diffusive stratified regime. Previous such studies have been confined to `run down` experiments, in which fluxes an order of magnitude too large for ocean application were determined. The proposed experiment would be conducted with maintained boundary conditions, a much more realistic situation for ocean comparison.
