The Boise Extravaganza in Set Theory (BEST) is an annualconference in Set Theory hosted by Boise State University. It hasrun continuously since it began in 1992 and is the only regularconference in North America devoted primarily to Set Theory. Thetalks and the participants are representative of set theoreticresearch in North America with topics ranging from largecardinals, cardinal invariants of the continuum, core models,fine structure, descriptive set theory, set theoretic topologyand analysis, forcing axioms, and combinatorics. The small scaleof the conference --- about 20 participants, most presentingtalks --- allows for an informal atmosphere and encouragesdiscussion between the representatives of various areas of settheory. The general format is that of a three day conference. Fourinvited talks running approximately 50 minutes each are spreadthroughout the conference with the remainder of the scheduleconsisting of shorter contributed talks. NSF funds are used tocover the expenses of the invited speakers and to help defray thelocal and travel expenses of those who do not have their own formof travel support, especially graduate students. The organizersmake a sincere effort to invite women, minorities, and youngmembers of the field.
