Schmidt0500969The research project will contribute to the understanding of how natural-based biomaterials such as hyaluronan interface and communicate with cells involved in wound repair. This understanding will be significant to ultimately develop improved therapies to promote healing of injured tissues. The project will also emphasize education by training graduate students, by working with the NSF-IGERT program in biomedical imaging and optics at the PI's university and by participating in K12 outreach.
