0521188IskanderWith this proposal we respectfully request the NSF support for the 2005 IEEE TopicalConference on Wireless Communications Technology that will be held jointly with theApplied Computational Electromagnetics Society (ACES) Conference. The jointconference will be held during the period April 3-7, 2005, at the Hilton Hawaiian VillageHotel, in Honolulu, HI.The objective of the joint conference is to provide a forum for discussing and presentingrecent research results in two of the most enabling technologies in electrical andcommunication engineering. While the IEEE conference will focus on advances in thewireless communications technology, the ACES conference usually deals with advancesin applied computational electromagnetics. In a way, the wireless technology providesvery important application areas for the computational EM research. The complementarynature of the research areas in the two conferences will hence, provide mutual benefitsfor both collaborating organizations and their participants.The requested NSF funds will be used to cover travel support for graduate students whowill be presenting papers and portion of the grant will be used to cover travel expensesfor an invited speakers who are experts in new and emerging technologies in the wirelessand the computational EM areas.
