AbstractAward: DMS-0607956Principal Investigator: Christopher G. Connell, David M. Fisher, Matthias WeberThe Bloomington Geometry Workshop brings together leadinggeometers to discuss and disseminate recent advances in geometryand related fields. This year's list of speakers includes DenisAuroux, Manfred Einseidler, Nikolai Ivanov, Gregory Margulis andJuan Souto. These speakers will inform participants of work insymplectic geometry, dynamics on homogeneous spaces andapplications to number theory, rigidity theory, hyperbolicgeometry and Teichmuller theory.The purpose of the Workshop is to help foster cooperation andcollaboration among researchers in the midwest region as well ashelp educate graduate students and young researchers about thelatest developments in geometry. Most of the funding will be usedto support the travel of graduate students and recentPhD's.
