The Central Project has been jointly administered by the two co-spokespersons and through their respective universities. The implementation of the SPP has thus been shared by the Universities of Halle and Leipzig, with funding distributed by DFG to both institutions on an equal basis.As in phase I (2011-2012) the two spokespersons continued to give advice to the potential applicants, acted as representatives to the review panel, supervised the implementation of the programme, represented the SPP on international workshops and conferences, guided the communication with DFG, external institutions and guest researchers and provided the intellectual input on the SPPs key concepts. Starting from phase II of the SPP they were assisted by two academic co-ordinators, one based in Halle, the other in Leipzig, instead of one academic and one administrative coordinator in the previous phase. This change in organisation and focus on thetheoretical work of the Priority Programme has proved to be fruitful and efficient on both an academic as well as administrative level.The co-ordinators provided logistical services to the projects approved under the programme, they implemented the academic and administrative everyday-work of the programme and organised efficient communication between all members of the SPP by phone and e-mail, meetings and through the website (www.spp1448.de).
