ABSTRACTThe Pleistocene Human Colonization of the Arctic and Subarctic Siberia and Beringia Workshop, organizer Dr. Ted Goebel, will be held on the campus of Texas A&M University, November 2006. The purpose of the conference is to bring together interdisciplinary scholars, including students, from the international community to discuss the current status of knowledge about human Pleistocene migrations in Siberia and North America. The participants will examine archaeological collections from Russia, Canada, and Alaska and they will identify major gaps in knowledge of the Paleolithic settlement of northern Siberia in order to set a research agenda for the future. In addition the attendees will plan for a conference the following year to take place in Anadyr, Russia.
