The high sensitivity of electrically detected magnetic resonance (EDMR) is combined with the broadband capabilities of antenna-based microwave delivery and the shaping of the resonance excitation pulses with the help of arbitrary waveforms. Stripline radiofrequency and microwave antennae have been optimized with respect to the efficiency, with which they generate the required high-frequency magnetic fields, and pulsed EDMR experiments have been performed from 2 to 18 GHz. The strong dephasing linked to the high efficiency is fully mitigated by the use of adiabatic pulses. In the second funding period, we further increase the bandwidth of the technique, investigate the spatial distribution of the magnetic fields, develop optimum control pulses specific to EDMR and apply the new method to topical issues relating to quantum information processing and renewable energies.
