Rich clusters of galaxies: probing galaxy evolution and dynamical growth under the most extreme conditions

This project will investigate two of the most fundamental processes within the universe - galaxy evolution and the dynamical growth of structure - and the interplay between them, thereby contributing to the Priority Goal of Breakthrough Science under National Research Priority 3. It will also bring national benefit through the international collaborations it will involve with prestigious US institutions. These collaborations will lead to new research capacity being built within Australia, through knowledge and expertise being vested in young postgraduate and postdoctoral researchers.
