BRAGECRIM (Brazilian German Collaborative Research Initiative on Manufacturing Technology) is an international research program between Germany and Brazil with the goal to generate fundamental technological knowledge, enabling the development of innovative solutions for improving productivity, quality and sustainability of both German and Brazilian industrial companies. The goal will be achieved through bilateral research activities along the value chain. The program is supported by the DFG (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft) and CAPES (Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior) and connects more than 30 institutions (Universities, reaserach institutes and partners from the industry). Considering the strategic interests from Brazil and Germany in manufacturing technologies, the long term goal within this collaborative research program is to enforce the competitiveness of both countries in the global market by:- Concentrating on innovation and extending it along the whole value added chain- Fast transfer of knowledge and results in short time to the industry- Building focused project teams with complementary competences along the whole value added chain- Exchanging experiences through the interchange of scientists.The framework for the cooperative research projects was set through the funding agencies. Coordinators on the Brazilian and German side were designated to develop the BRAGECRIM network and to proactively promote the cooperation within the bilateral partnerships. The goal is to promote a comprehensive professional and cultural exchange.
