VD 18: Digitisation and Indexing of Printed Material Published in the 18th Century in the German-Speaking Areas (VD 18) - Main Phase

The “Catalogue of Printed Material Published in the 18th Century in the German-Speaking Areas” (VD 18) aims at recording and indexing prints in German or in German-speaking countries published between 1701 and 1800 and thus represents the continuation of the cooperative national bibliographic projects "Catalogue of Printed Material Published in the 16th Century in the German-Speaking Areas" (VD 16) and Catalogue of Printed Material Published in the 17th Century in the German-Speaking Areas" (VD 17). The VD 18 however, integrates cataloguing and digitisation, which was not the case with VD 16 and VD 17. Within the follow-up project “Digitisation and Indexing of Printed Material Published in the 18th Century in the German-Speaking Areas (VD 18) – Main Phase”, further 128 eighteenth-century titles (which means an average of 27.000 scans) from the collection the Research Library for the History of Education will be indexed, digitised and made accessible publicly on a national-bibliographic level.In a first project phase 470 titles (ca. 109.000 scans) were indexed and digitised.
