主として本研究課題の派生研究に取り組んだ。経済学では、モデルの定式化が正しいかどうかを検証する特定化検定がしばしば行われる。しかし、モデルの定式化の正しさを知ることが分析の最終目的であることはほぼない。妥当と判断されたモデルを用いて、推定や統計的推測が行うことが目的であることがほとんどである。そのため、モデルの正しさを判断するというよりも、特定のモデルと結びついた推定量の妥当性を判断するための道具として、特定化検定が用いられることが多い。そこで本研究では、特定化検定により推定量の妥当性を判断することが可能かどうかの検証を行った。具体的な設定は以下のとおりである。ある理想的な分布（帰無仮説）が存在し、仮にデータがこの分布から生成されているならば、モデルは正しく定式化されており、推定量も良い振る舞いをするものとする。しかし、データ生成過程はこの理想的な分布と一致するとは限らず、そこから少しずれた分布（局所対立仮説）から発生している可能性がある。このような設定の下、検定統計量と推定量の漸近的な振る舞いは、理想的な分布からのずれの「方向」に依存する。ある方向に対しては検定は検出力を持つが、別の方向に対して検出力を持たない。一方、推定量についても、ある方向に対してはバイアスを持つが、別の方向に対してはバイアスを持たない。本研究の主要な結果は、検定により検出可能なずれの方向は、推定量にバイアスをもたらすずれの方向と直交しているというものである。これはつまり、特定化検定によって推定量のバイアスの有無を調べるのは不可能であるということを意味している。
