本研究課題の目的は、非対称的な2国間でのFTAが世界全体の貿易自由化を促進するかを理論的に検討することである。研究期間において、各国政府の長期的視野による政策決定がFTAの形成を通じた貿易自由化の進展にどのような影響を及ぼすかを主たる研究課題として、これまで行ってきた研究に基づき、市場規模の異なる3国3市場モデルに、長期的な視野から政策決定を行う政府を導入し、近視眼的な政府のもとでの結果と比較することで、政策決定における時間的視野とFTA形成を通じた貿易自由化の関係について考察した。これまでの取り組みによって、市場規模の異なる3国3市場モデルにおいて、(1) 2国間FTAは市場規模が似通った国の間で形成されるが、長期的視野によって政策決定が行われる場合、相対的に市場規模が大きい国の間でFTAが形成されるようになる。(2) 市場規模の大きい国の間でFTAが形成されたとき、域外国との市場規模の差が大きい場合は、当初の2国間FTAの形成にとどまり、それ以上には貿易自由化は進展しない。(3) 市場規模の大きい国の間でのFTAが形成されたとき、FTA締結国と域外国の市場規模が大きく異ならない場合には、重複的な2国間のFTAの形成を通じて、世界全体の自由貿易が実現する、という主たる結果を得ている。以上の結果について、投稿・改訂作業に取り組んでいるが、掲載には至っていない。また、各国政府がFTAからの離脱オプションを有する場合の研究については、現段階ではモデルの構築と計算に取り組んでいる状況であり、十分な成果を得るには至っていない。なお、関連する研究としてHayashibara,Ohkawa,Okamura, and Nomura (2022)があり、現段階では投稿後reviseに回っている。

The purpose of this study is to promote the promotion of trade liberalization in the world as a whole by the two countries. The purpose of this study is to promote the promotion of FTA theory.
