项目摘要

本研究の目的は、「クローズド・モジュラー」の製品アーキテクチャの実現に必要な組織能力を明らかにすることである。一つのケースとして医療用やグラフィックス用などのモニターを扱うメーカーに注目してきた。そして、部品と部品や製品と製品の繋ぎ方と、製品になるまでのプロセスや製品と製品を統合するシステム化における部門間、および当該企業と顧客の連携のあり方についての分析を行ってきた。その結果、次の点が明らかになった。①モニターの核となる電気回路に加え、機構の設計・開発、ソフトウェア開発を独自で行っており、各種部材はすり合わせで組まれることがある。②製品どうしを組み合わせてシステム統合する際は、ソフトウェアが用いられている（クローズド・モジュラー）。③これは、社内にシステム統合化のための製品知識とコア技術を保有していることによる。④電気回路や機構の技術的性質から、技術者間による頻繁な相互調整が必要であるため、蜜な部署間連携体制がとられている。⑤エンジニアを帯同した営業活動をしており、それが顧客価値の創造の源泉になっている。社内外の連携を重視したモノづくりは、当該企業が、光、音、温度などを連続的に捉えられるアナログ技術をコアとした製品を扱っていることと、製品への評価が製品自体に加えて、使用時の影響も受けることによると考えられる。この仮説の検証と、アナログ技術を使った「クローズド・モジュラー」の製品アーキテクチャの実現に必要な組織能力を具体化していくために、同じような特徴をもつ企業を対象にしたさらなる調査が必要である。そこで、①長期的にアナログ技術の開発に携わっている、②アナログ技術を使った製品の生産と保守などのサービス部分も手掛けている、この２つの条件を満たす企業の抽出をデータベースを用いて行っている。2017年から現在までで該当する企業は10社ほどあることがわかっている。
