项目摘要

本研究は、移民労働者が就労国で適正な労働・生活環境を獲得するうえで、就労国の国籍取得や、出自国を同じくする者同士の相互扶助という戦略のほかに、就労国の国民との文化的共通性を活用して、就労国の国民と関係を構築する生存戦略もあることを、多民族・多宗教国家であるインドネシア、ミャンマー、フィリピンから、同じく多民族・多宗教国家であるマレーシアへの移民・就労者の事例を通じて明らかにする。具体的には、これら3か国からの移民・就労者が、マレーシア国民の各民族内で互助機能を果たしてきた宗教を活用し、よりよい労働・生活環境を確保しようとすることに着目する。そのため、①仏教系寺院・組織（華人と仏教徒のミャンマー人）、②モスク・イスラム教組織（マレー人とムスリムのインドネシア人、ミャンマー人、フィリピン人）、③教会・キリスト教組織（華人とキリスト教徒のフィリピン人）を対象に、(i)宗教施設・組織を通じてマレーシア国民と移民労働者との間に、冠婚葬祭サービスの提供をはじめ、国籍を越えた相互扶助が行われているのか、(ii)宗教施設・組織を通じた関係性が雇用関係など移民の経済的・社会的資本に変換されることはあるのか、あるとしたらそれはどのような関係性をマレーシア国民との間にあらたにもたらすのかを調査した。2022年度は、前年度に引き続き、文献調査およびオンラインでの聞き取り調査を行うとともに、現地調査も可能となった。国内研究会を1回実施し、これら調査の成果を共有した。コロナ禍を経て移民・移住を取り巻く状況が制度面で大きく変わり、それを受けてネットワークのあり方や個々のインフォーマントの状況も大きく変わっていることが共有された。現地調査の体制の立て直しや、コロナ禍以降を分析対象とするのかも含めた大幅な枠組みの見直しが必要であることが共有された。
