本研究は、わが国の石油化学製品製造業の研究開発マネジメントの実態把握および、イノベーションに結びつけるための要件を明らかにする目的で開始された。初年度には、石油化学製品製造企業の研究開発部門と研究所の長を対象にした質問票調査を実施した。また昨年度は、京葉コンビナート地帯に存する石油化学関連企業の研究開発部門および研究所の長を対象にしたインタビュー調査を行なった。本年度は、2つの調査から得られた知見をもとに成果報告を行った。以下、19年度に行なった活動を、年度研究実施計画の事項に対応させて記述する。1.データの分析企業規模および事業所の規模に注目した分析を行った。分析結果から、規模の大きいことが必ずしもイノベーションを促進するものではないということが示唆された。事業所の規模が大きい研究所および研究開発部門は独立した研究開発施設を有している傾向があるため、本年度は、研究所および研究開発部門の所在に注目した分析を行なった。2.研究報告1.の研究成果をPortland International Center for Management of Engineering and Technology、文部科学省科学技術研究費補助金特定領域研究「日本の技術革新-経験蓄積と知識基盤化-」フォーラム、研究・技術計画学会において発表した。3.報告書作成本補助金を受けて行なった研究成果をモノグラフという形にまとめ、JAIST-Pressから出版する予定になっている。
