なぜヒト社会でのみ向社会性（協力性・利他性・共感性・互恵性）が大規模なレベルで維持されているのかという疑問を解明するため、これまで様々な学際的研究が行われてきた。本研究は、現在有力な理論仮説である「強い互恵性仮説」と「間接互恵性仮説」の2つに焦点を当て、評判の観点から両者の統合を試み、向社会性が適応的になる評判形成メカニズムの解明を目指している。そのため本研究では、繰り返しのある相互作用状況下において、集団成員の互いに対する評価を社会的に共有するダイナミックな評判形成パラダイムを開発し、持続可能な向社会的秩序形成における評判の社会的共有基盤の究明に取り組もうとしている。本研究では、1）他者に対する評価、2）他者から自身に与えられる評価、3）評価の社会的共有（評判）の3つの側面が、繰り返しのある相互作用を行う集団状況で、利他行動の生起と維持にどのような影響を及ぼすのかを実験で明らかにする。2022年度も引き続き新型コロナウイルスによる影響が続いており、感染状況を見極めつつ対面実験のタイミングを計っていたが、集団実験の実施は感染防止の観点から不安があるため、個人実験と質問紙調査研究を中心に進めてきた。具体的には、他者との間で繰り返しのある協働が必要な作業課題において、ターゲットについて与えられた情報を元に、回答者自身のターゲットに対する評価、さらに、他者の評価見積もり（自分以外の人はどのように評価すると思うか）を行わせる調査を実施し、両者の一致とズレを検討したところ、課題の誘因構造と評価との間に興味深い知見を見出した。ただし、調査は場面想定法を用いて実施したため、実際の相互作用による影響については、新型コロナ感染が落ち着いた時期に対面実験での検討を計画している。
