The main goal of the project is a proof-of-principle experiment for the production of polarized hydrogen molecules with a modified superconducting atomic beam source. Based on this development it should be possible to build a polarized molecular beam source that is able to deliver intense beams of highly polarized hydrogen, and later deuterium or even tritium, molecules. The polarized deuterium molecules can then be used for experiments on laser-induced inertial fusion at Arcturus or Phelix multi-TW laser facilities.
