本研究では、侵入段階に応じた管理状況、政策、利害関係者の許容度を比較、要因分析し、現場の課題を明らかにするとともに、外来種管理指標の開発を目指す。これまでCOVID-19に関連する社会状況を考慮して、非対面式での情報収集を行ってきたが、2022年度は対面での調査が一部可能となった。フィールドワークを軸とした管理状況の調査からは、主に捕獲数が少ない地域において管理体制を構築する上での課題として、モニタリングに必要な情報を収集できる体制になっていないことや、行政界を越えた場合の情報共有が挙げられた。また、対馬市（ツマアカスズメバチ）を事例として住民に許容される管理手法の調査を行った。その結果、現行の手法である殺虫剤の含まない置き型トラップが地域住民に最も支持されており、管理を行わないことが最も支持されていないことが明らかになった。さらに、管理を実施する地域によって、地域住民の各管理手法に対する選好が異なることが明らかになった。このような結果から、現行の管理手法が社会科学的側面から支持された一方で、効果的な手法が新たに開発された際など、異なる手法への変換の際には住民への理解を促していく必要があることが示唆された。この点については、昨年度の成果である適切な情報提供による許容度の変化と統合することで、住民からの支持を得ながら管理を進める戦略について検討することが可能であった。上記の結果の一部は国内学会で発表するとともに、国際シンポジウムで発表を行った。
