2020・2021年度に引き続き、コロナ禍およびインドネシアの調査許可の制度変更の影響でインドネシアで現地調査ができなかった。しかし2021年度に国内で収集・分析した文献やデータをもとに、2022年度はインドネシアのジョグジャカルタ特別州のスルタンと政治に関する口頭発表を行い、その内容をもとに論文を作成した。論文では、共和制国家であるインドネシアにおいてジョグジャカルタ特別州にのみスルタンの州知事終身・世襲制が確立した過程を追い、さらに今日のジョグジャカルタ市民のスルタン観・権力観を考察した。本論文の出版は2023年度を予定している。本論文を通してジョグジャカルタの政治と社会の特徴を示したことから、次年度以降に実施するジョグジャカルタでの現地調査では、より焦点を絞って調査することができると考える。具体的には、スルタンと国軍の関係や、人々が両者の関係をどのように見ているのかについてインタビューや文献・データの収集を行う予定である。また2022年度は、中央政治との関連のなかでインドネシアの地方レベルの政治と社会、国軍と社会の関係を捉えることを目指し、過去20年間のインドネシアの中央政治および経済・社会状況を改めて整理した。その成果の一部として、立命館大学アジア・日本研究所が発行するアジア・日本研究Webマガジン『アジア・マップ』にインドネシアの21世紀年表を発表した。1999年から2022年までのインドネシアの主な政治・経済・社会的出来事を年ごとにまとめ、ナショナルレベルでのインドネシアの動向を追った。
