项目摘要

本研究の目的は、樺太先住民（アイヌ、ウイルタ、ニヴフなど）が日露二つの帝国統治を経験する過程で、彼らが臣民として統治者に要求した「権利」のかたちとその内容を、彼らの主要な生業のひとつであった漁業と、1932年に付与が決定する日本国籍という二つの側面から分析し、日露統治下にあった樺太先住民が認識していた、帝国臣民としての「権利」の内実を明らかにすることである。国内のコロナウィルス感染状況が収束に向かいつつあるため、前年度まで控えていた遠方での調査を次年度以降に行う予定であり、その準備段階として、今年度は樺太先住民の政治・社会運動に関する先行研究および基礎資料の調査・整理をおこなった。具体的には、樺太先住民（おもに樺太アイヌ）の政治・社会運動に影響を与えていたと考えられる北海道アイヌについての先行研究を整理した。とくに大正デモクラシー期以降の北海道アイヌの政治・社会運動や、北海道アイヌに対する近代化・同化政策が実施されるなかでのアイヌの思想に関する国内外の先行研究を整理し、本研究に関連する史料原本などを確認した。くわえて樺太先住民の政治・社会運動に関する国内の新聞・雑誌記事等の調査をおこなった。また、2022年3月に刊行された拙著『帝国法制秩序と樺太先住民』（九州大学出版会）に関して、サハリン・樺太史研究会第62回（オンライン開催）で報告をおこない、北海道アイヌほか他地域の植民地等との比較の必要など、今後の研究課題の参考となるアドバイスを得た。
