本研究課題は小売企業を対象とし、企業業績に及ぼす在庫リーンネスの効果を実証することを目的としている。より具体的には、企業業績に及ぼす在庫リーンネスの効果について仮説を構築し、その妥当性を公的統計の二次利用により作成したパネルデータを用いて検証する。そうすることで、在庫リーンネスは企業業績にどのような効果を及ぼすのかを経験的データに基づいて明らかにする。その際、パネルデータを用いた重回帰分析を分析方法として利用することで時間を通じて一定と見なすことができる個別効果をコントロールした上で在庫リーンネスが企業業績に及ぼす効果を明らかにすることができる。今年度の研究成果は主に次の3点である。第1に、企業業績に及ぼす在庫リーンネスの効果について検証可能な仮説を構築した（論文投稿中のため、詳細については記載できない）。第２に，この仮説の妥当性をパネルデータを用いて検証した。第３に、暫定的ではあるが、仮説を支持する結果を得ることができた。
