本研究は、共同注意の発達に関わる社会的要因として、発達早期の養育環境、特に二者関係（親子の相互作用や関係性）に着目し、二項関係を基盤として三項関係の共同注意がどのように発達していくのかについて情動的視点も取り入れながら実証的検討を行うことを目的とした研究である。昨年度に引き続き、本年度も、新型コロナウィルス感染症の感染拡大により、調査を実施できない時期があった。当初生後３ヵ月から１歳半頃までの調査を予定していたが、生後10ヵ月までの調査で中止となったケースが複数あった。本年度後半、新型コロナウィルス感染症の感染状況が落ち着いてきた頃に、新規に研究参加者を募集し、縦断調査を再開した。本年度末時点での新規の研究参加者は約10組の親子であった。生後３ヵ月に大学の実験室に親子に来ていただき、玩具を使った母子自由遊びの観察を行い、質問紙に回答していただいた。また、生後４ヵ月の調査では、乳児の情動反応を評価する実験を行った。来年度は、すでに縦断調査を開始している親子を対象に、生後6か月、10ヵ月、16ヵ月、20ヵ月の調査を実施する予定である。また並行して、新規に研究参加者を募集し、生後３ヵ月からの縦断調査を開始する予定である。同時に、データ分析も進め、相互作用場面での母子の情緒的特質（情緒的利用可能性など）、注意共有に関わる母親の具体的な行動（指差しや玩具の提示など）、乳児の情動特性（ポジティブ情動など）、乳児の共同注意行動などについて評価する予定である。最終的には、約50組の母子を対象に縦断調査を行うことを目標とし、共同注意の発達に関わる社会情動的メカニズムについて明らかにしたいと考える。
