本研究の目的はシェアリングエコノミー型サービスの利用拡大により変化する旅行者の旅行行動に注目し、（１）旅行者が同サービスの利用に至るまでの心理的メカニズムの解明、ならびに（２）旅行者による同サービスの利用行動が旅行者の心理・行動に及ぼす影響の解明を目的としている。これらの点の解明を通じて、旅行分野におけるシェアリングエコノミー型サービスの普及に向けた有用な示唆を導く。なお、新型コロナウイルス感染症の拡大により、旅行行動が大きく制約され、消費者の間にも民泊サービスやライドシェアサービスの利用を控えるという行動が見られたために、当初予定していたシェアリングエコノミー型サービスの利用行動を促進する心理的要因の分析ではなく、新型コロナウイルス感染症の拡大期において同サービスの利用行動を阻害する心理的要因とその影響に関する分析を中心に研究を進めてきた。2022年度は特に民泊サービスを対象として調査・分析を行ってきた。同サービスの利用行動を阻害する要因としては、感染防止対策の順守などコロナ禍において新たに登場した社会的規範の影響に注目して分析を行った。その結果、新たな社会的規範は、旅行者に民泊サービスの利用を躊躇させる要因の一つとして働いていることが明らかにされた。また、分析結果をもとに、アフターコロナにおいて、プラットフォーム事業者や民泊のホストの立場から、どのような施策をとることが民泊需要を回復させるために求められるのかについても考察を行った。
