项目摘要

本年度に計画していたフィリピン、およびインドネシアでの海外調査（発掘）はいずれもコロナの影響や、調査の再開に必要な諸手続きがコロナ前よりも複雑化したことの影響を受け、年度内に実施することはできなかった。そこでこれまでの研究・発掘調査により収集されていた新石器時代以降におけるオーストロネシア語族の土器や埋葬文化に関わる考古学的資料の分析と整理を積極的に進め、その成果をIndo-Pacific Prehistory Associationなどの国際学会で公表した。またインドネシアの考古資料においては、鋸歯印文土器の詳細に関するデータを整理し、これらの成果の一部を学術論文として投稿するための執筆準備を進めた。比較の視点からは、東南アジアやオセアニアの熱帯島嶼環境と類似性の高い、亜熱帯島嶼となる琉球列島の先島諸島に注目し、その中心的位置を占める宮古島と石垣島での発掘調査を継続実施した。今年度の発掘では、とくに宮古島での洞窟遺跡で土器片や魚骨などを伴う炉跡の検出を行ったほか、その周囲で人骨も出土が確認され、本科研の目的を遂行する上で重要な発見があった。また初期オーストロネシア語族の移住期と並行する遺跡として、波照間島の下田原貝塚遺跡から出土した魚骨の再同定分析のほか、同位体分析の準備も進めている。これらの研究から、当時の人類集団による漁撈活動や漁撈戦略の復元にもアプローチし、オーストロネシア語族による八重山諸島への拡散問題への解明のほか、この島嶼域へと移住した人類集団の土器・埋葬文化についての考古学的資料の分析を進めることができた。

This year's discovery of the remains of the caves on Miyako Island, the discovery of the remains of the earth artifacts and fish bones, the identification of the remains of the human bones, and the implementation of the objectives of this scientific research are important discoveries. The initial stage of migration of the language family and the preparation of the isotopic analysis of the fish bones unearthed at the Shimotawara site on the island of Wateruma This study aims to analyze the archaeological data of human population migration and burial culture in Yaeyama Islands and to clarify the problem of their dispersal.
