项目摘要

15世紀から16世紀にかけてのルネサンス期工房制作における「模倣」に着目し、その実践と評価の変化を検証することで、芸術家のオリジナリティと生産性の問題を明らかにすることを目的とした研究を進めた。2022年度には、下記事項について調査研究を行い、その結果を論文として発表した。教会大分裂後に教皇庁がローマに帰還した後のローマの芸術と工房組織に着目して、本研究のテーマに沿った研究を進めた。具体的には、15世紀半ばの教皇庁で創設されたヴァチカン旧図書館を研究対象として、フィレンツェの画家アンドレア・デル・カスターニョやギルランダイオ兄弟、ロマーニャ地方教皇領出身の画家メロッツォ・ダ・フォルリ、そして15世紀後半のローマを代表する地元画家アントニアッツォ・ロマーノが描いた旧図書館内部の装飾の発展に、ローマの絵画発展が他地域芸術の模倣をベースに形成されていったことが見られる点を考察した研究を行なった。この研究成果は「教皇のヴァチカン旧図書館事業ー十五世紀後半ローマの絵画発展の観点からー」と題した論考として、『昭和女子大学文化史研究』26号に発表した。また、年度末の3月にはローマ、ペルージャ、フェッラーラなどにて調査を行い、これらの地域での芸術工房の活動に関する資料を収集した。特にローマでは15世紀の教皇たちのもとで活躍した画家の他に、フィレンツェの彫刻家フィラレーテやアントニオ・デル・ポライウォーロ、ローマを中心に活躍した彫刻家アンドレア・ブレーニョなど、彫刻家の作品も視野に入れてテーマと関連する作品を調査した。またペルージャでは、大規模な工房を営んでいた画家ピエトロ・ペルジーノの回顧展（ウンブリア国立絵画館）などで作品を調査し、工房における模倣の実態の一事例を確認した。
