（1)国内の外国人労働者・留学生の金融排除の実態：在留外国人への調査を実施した。第1回調査では、ほとんどの回答者は銀行口座を保有しており、あからさまな外国人差別はないものの、クレジットカードや借り入れを断られた経験を持つ人は多く、また日本の金融サービスへの違和感・抵抗感、知識不足、言語の壁を感じる人も目立った。第2回調査では、金融機関の外国語対応が普及していないこと、回答者の1割前後は家計が苦しいことなどが明らかになった。他方、在日ネパール人労働者・留学生に金融サービス利用の状況を聞き取ったり、外国人支援団体の関係者に在留外国人の概況を聞いたりして、金融排除の実態把握に努めた。（2）送り出し国の課題：日本渡航前の労働者への金融教育について調査を行った。具体的にはフィリピンとインドネシアにおいて、日本に渡航予定の労働者・留学生、日本からの帰国者、金融教育や渡航者教育を行う政府機関や民間団体の責任者に調査した。フィリピンは政府による渡航前教育プログラムの受講が義務付けられているが、金融教育は極めて短期間で、内容的にも限られたものであった。他方インドネシアは、渡航予定の労働者・留学生に対して、一般的な内容の金融教育しか行われていなかった。総じて渡航前の労働者に対する金融教育が不十分であることが明らかになった。（3）外国人母子世帯への支援の課題：全国の母子生活支援施設に調査を行い、外国人入所者に家計管理支援をどのように行っているのかを尋ねた。母子生活支援施設の入所者に占める外国人母の割合は10％程度で増加傾向にあるが、言語の壁、金銭感覚の違い、社会保障制度に関する知識の欠如により、施設職員が外国人母に家計管理を支援することの困難を感じていること、また家計改善支援事業の利用が普及していないことが明らかとなった。他方、フランスの家庭経済ソーシャルワーカーに関する図書の翻訳作業を進めた。
