学校で行う健康診断でも今後活用できる、中学生・高校生を対象とした精神保健スクリーニングの、予備的検討を行った。中高生の精神保健向上に向けた実践的支援で協力関係にある自治体の公立中学4校、高校2校の中1、高1の生徒全員を対象に、学校の保健活動として、うつ・不安に関するスクリーニング8問と希死念慮に関わるスクリーニング1問（「生きていても仕方ないと思うことがあるか」）への回答を求めた（1次スクリーニング）。1次スクリーニングで「有所見」であった生徒には、クラス担任の教員が面接を行い、C-SSRSを用いた自殺リスクの評価を行った（２次面接）。研究用の解析には本人・保護者の同意が得られた生徒の回答を用いた。またスクリーニング終了後、生徒と教員にこのスクリーニング・面接の回答・実施の負担感について質問した（同意が得られた生徒の回答を解析した）。中学生621人（複数回のスクリーニングを実施した学校があるので延べ828人）、高校生668人（同様に延べ994人）が参加した。詳しい解析は現在実施中だが、一次スクリーニングで有所見となり2次面接を受けた生徒のうち延べ19人が、「過去1ヵ月の間に、どうやって自殺するか考えたことがある（または）今までに自殺の準備をしたり何らかの行動をとったことがある」に該当した。また1人が、「過去1か月で、自殺を実行に移そうと思った、または準備したり何らかの行動をとった」に該当した。スクリーニングに対する生徒の感想はおおむね良好で、強い負担感等の訴えはみられなかった。一方教員からは、二次面接の実施と、その結果を保護者に伝えることへの負担感の訴えがみられた。なお教員にはスクリーニング・面接の実施前に、精神保健リテラシーの研修を受けてもらっており、保護者にも実施に先立って、自殺リスクの増加を含めた思春期の精神保健の問題に関するビデオ講演を実施している。」
